Garbage=Trash=Once a week

If you want to see how much trash you can accumulate over a week just stay a week in USA!

It's just me and hubby and occasional guest over a week, but I don't know how we can accumulate so much trash in a week. It's amazing to see the growth of this trash bag everyday, its like feeding on..

Well, it is sort of feeding on the leftovers, milk cartons, wine, beer bottles, cans of veggies, fruits!

Trash if you live in an apartment:
1. Use grocery bags to line the dustbin under sink in the kitchen
2. Use second grocery in the bathroom ever day
3. No dustbins in the single bedroom
4. Throw away both the grocery bags in a HUGE trash bin located at end of the apartment or inside the apartment every two days.

Trash if you own a house:
1. Use small plastic to line dustbin under the sink
2. Use small plastic liner bag to line dustbin in bathroom
3. Use small plastic liner bag to line dustbins all over the rooms!
4. Use the Hefty bags(2 or 4) to collect all the small plastic bags into it

5. Use Brown paper bags to collect leaves outside the house
6. Put the trash bag into a big trash bin outside the house every other day
7. Every Tuesday night, transfer the trash bins to front sidewalk(Pavement) of the house.
Note: IF I forgot to do this, the whole house will stink for the next week!
8. Remember to make a payment of $15 per month to the trash company!

Here are different kinds of Garbage trucks and the equiment used to lift the HUGE trash cans:

Gas=Petrol and Breakfast=Bagels(?)

Woke up this morning feeling very hungry and thirsty. Blame it on the half-bottle of wine last night.

Hubby had woken up bit early around 830am and started the Dishwasher--Bad, bad choice. All the hot-water was used up by the stupid machine.
Note to self: NEVER switch on the dishwasher before you Shower.

Thanks to speed stick, i'm all set in 5mins and packed the lunch and out of the door in 30mins.

Still hungry.

And I have to pump gas to both self and car. Car comes first since it just might stop moving altogether if I don't feed it!

So I drove to the Shell gas station and did ALL these steps:
1. Wait for 3mins to take a Left turn to gas station (Oh, look there is a Dunkin Donuts next to it!)
2. Put car in Park and apply hand brakes
3. Shut off the engine.
4. Remove seat belt
5. Push the button to open the gas tank door.
6. Open the bag, search for wallet, search for credit card.
7. Take the credit card and get out the car.
8. Swipe credit card twice (to get the gas machine to accept it!)
9. Turn around and remove the gas tank cap!
10. Remove the nozzle
11. Select "Regular" gas
12. Wait for 5mins for the car to be fed.
13. Put back the nozzle and gas tank cap on.
14. Go back to car, forgot the receipt.
15. Go back again, pick up the receipt and finally settle in the car

But then i see I can just walk to the Dunkin Donuts instead of driving all around and search for a parking spot!

So finally I walk, thinking i'll just get out with a regular coffee.

The donuts and bagels smell soooo good.

I see the promotion of their new "Bagel Twist" :-)

Couldn't resist and got a Cinnamon Toast Bagel Twist and a Medium Cappuccino (but with Skimmed Milk).
I usually go for Medium cups in Dunkin Donuts because the quality of the paper cup is much better than the Small!

Wonder if they do it intentionally??

Soaps!

However much you try to adopt their culture, it is never the same as being born and brought up here. That's one the major advantages ABCD's have over the IBCD's.

I can talk, dress, talk the "whatever" lingo and hell sport a cosmo like Carrie Bradshaw. But ultimately when they start talking about the "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" from Cheers I'm totally Lost!

It is just like us referring to Nukkad or Wagle Ki Duniya!

Flip Flop = Hawai Slippers!

A colleague of mine asks me to join for a walk.

Me: Sure. Just a minute, I'll change from these heels. I have an extra pair of shoes in my cube
Colleague: You mean Sneakers right?
Me: yes!

After coming back from the walk, I googled and realized that for walking/running is called sneakers and more formal footwear is called shoes!

American Footwear Info:
Sneakers: are used for comfort, running, walking.
Boots: Are usually above ankle are used to make you look taller there classy with jeans and sexy with skirts! Usually worn in Spring and Fall season.
Shoes: are mostly for formal dress
Flip Flops (Indian Hawaii slippers!): are worn for the beach or with shorts!

Metamorphosis!

In course of time the NRI transform to the IBCD.

The change is not mandatory but somewhat inevitable. It is not just about the cloths or accent. But it also being tolerant about the new cultural, traditions, questioning ourselves about who we are and what do we really want.

All animals, birds go through a evolutionary change when the environment. I believe the same applies to humans too!?!
I'll try to stick to the the events which are relative!
